Held under the theme "50 years of shaping local and global population issues toward sustainable development," the event was a tribute to RIPS’s enduring commitment to advancing knowledge in demographics, health, and social development across Ghana and Africa.
Vice President Bawumia underscored RIPS's impact, crediting its rigorous research and training programs for equipping students and professionals to tackle complex population challenges. In her address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo highlighted the importance of the institute’s technical support to policymakers, which has been instrumental in shaping national and regional development frameworks. Acting Director Prof. Ayaga Bawah shared the institute’s vision for the future, detailing key objectives including establishing a Population House and consolidating the RIPS Endowment Fund to support sustainable growth and continued excellence in education and research
The event also featured cultural performances, poetry recitals, and the unveiling of the RIPS 50th-anniversary cloth, marking the occasion with a strong sense of unity and purpose.
