Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe is a distinguished researcher in population studies with extensive experience in leading major funded international and national projects, totaling approximately USD 37 million in research funding. He has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on 21 significant projects, demonstrating his commitment to advancing research in areas such as climate change, population health, urbanization, and environmental studies. Prof. Codjoe has contributed significantly to policy and community practices, including the development of Ghana’s Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (iNDCs) for the UN Paris Climate Agreement and the establishment of the Climate Change Resource Centre at the Regional Institute for Population Studies (RIPS). His work extends beyond academia into practical interventions, such as constructing fish smoking facilities and waste management systems in Accra, aiming to address climate change and health challenges.

Prof. Codjoe's research contributions are complemented by his mentorship and capacity-building initiatives, having supervised numerous PhD, MPhil, and MA students, many of whom now hold prominent positions in leading global institutions. He has also provided scholarships for Masters and Doctoral training, research, and post-doctoral fellows, fostering academic excellence and expanding institutional networks. His expertise in trans-disciplinary research has been recognized through his leadership roles, including serving as Acting Convener of the Climate Change Working Group at the University of Ghana. Prof. Codjoe has co-authored numerous publications on population and environment-related topics, which are widely cited in major academic databases. His efforts in research and education have made substantial impacts on both local and international levels, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practical solutions to pressing global issues.
